Forbidden Fridays #13

Happy Friday everyone!

I’ve been struggling to keep writing blog posts that aren’t these Forbidden Fridays posts. I’ve been lacking a bit of inspiration recently! So if you have any ideas, please throw them my way. They may just spark something!

Anyway, as always, today I have a few things to share that I have discovered over the past week. I’ve got a mixture of links and images this time.

Enjoy!

Firstly, I decided to delve into the escort world a bit more and read some more about why women become escorts.

Cosmopolitan has an interesting article looking at professional women with full time jobs, who also escort on the side. It’s a good read – check it out here.

Moving on, I also wanted to see what horror stories there might be for sex workers.

I’ve talked about how sex work is most definitely not as glamorous as people think in past posts. I think it’s important that I show this side of things, and that none of us should be under any illusion.

This Vice article touches upon this topic from a sex worker’s perspective. Have a read here if you’re interested.

Another article I’ve just discovered completely by chance: Why Sex Work Is Real Work by Teen Vogue. I stumbled upon this when looking for images for this post.

I’m an advocate for the decriminalisation of sex work. In the UK, it is mot against the law for a woman to be a sex worker, but it is illegal to run a brothel and it also becomes murky for clients or punters.

This article is well worth a read if you want to delve into the legalities of sex work and what it means for the women working in this industry.

Right.

Enough serious talk for now!

Let’s have a bit of a laugh with some tongue-in-cheek, naughty memes. Oh and apologies if you’ve seen any of these memes before, my phone is full of them now and I lose track very easily haha.

    Richard says:

It’s strange how doing things that make things safer for sex workers are usually the parts of sex work that are illegal, e.g. multiple girls working together from one premises is classed as a brothel, strength in numbers is a thing.

Fully legalising sex work would also make things safer, maybe a bit more controlled but from a government perspective it could give a new tax revenue to help fill another black hole they keep banging on about.
