Now that I have a working laptop again, I can finally delve into the deep dark realms of this blog in all of its nerdy, script-based, plug-in glory.
As I may have mentioned before, this blog runs the WordPress software hosted by an adult-friendly provider. Hence why I have to be careful about certain topics.
WordPress is the titan of blogging platforms, one that has been around for decades (21 years to be exact). My first ever -atrocious- blog from 2010 ran through WordPress, and, over the years, I’ve learned a lot about HTML, JavaScript and the background workings of websites.
Having a laptop means I can do things with WordPress and this blog that you just can’t do on a tablet or phone. The tech-savvy reading this will know that the Windows/Mac operating systems aren’t the same as tablets/phones.
I receive genuine comments through the app I have on my phone, and can reply. However, I don’t get to see any of the spam comments that come through daily.
As such, I decided to delve into the cesspool that is ‘spam comments’ received on the blog. Probably won’t do that again.
But, I thought you might like a bit of an insight into the types of spam comments I receive. They are all done through bots nowadays, and you can’t blame the maker of said bot for trying. But, have a laugh with me.
Here are the top 10 comments I’ve received that WordPress has so helpfully filtered into spam:

So, as you can see, I definitely will not be looking at the ‘spam comments’ section ever again.
Also, just to be clear, any genuine comment left by you, a real person, never gets flagged as spam. The WordPress system is pretty clever. I try to respond to every comment left by you, my readers. I love reading your thoughts and suggestions!
Anyway.
Happy Friday and hope you have a fab weekend!
Toodle-do,
Lexi Rose xx
