Do I Play in my Daily Life? What Says, “Playtime to You”?

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?

This WordPress prompt piqued my interest, you can probably understand why.

So.

Do I ‘play’ in my daily life? There are a bunch of variables that I need to first break down.

I first want to break down the word ‘play’. The word ‘play’ can mean many things to many different people.

In my day-to-day life, this is what I think.

Play means to have fun, alone or with someone. It means to be playful, have playfulness in your personality, to converse playfully, and engage in sarcasm and wit (as, to me, these are playful aspects of conversation).

Being playful with someone means bouncing ideas off one another lightheartedly. ‘Playing’ with someone doesn’t involve physical playing. To me, it’s having fun.

‘Playtime’ has different connotations to me day-to-day. I’ll admit, ‘playtime’ isn’t a word I tend to include in my usual vocabulary.

Probably because the word playtime usually has sexual undertones to it, and I don’t communicate in sexual undertones in my day-to-day life.

Right. Now I’ve got those thoughts off of my chest, I’d like to explore the topic more.

Do I play in my daily life? Yes, very much so. I play intellectually mostly. I love intellectual conversation.

Now, dear reader. I know what you’re thinking.

Do I actually PLAY? As in, do I play with myself? Of course I do. I’ve been playing with myself since my first ever dildo.

But, I REALLY started to play with myself when I discovered vibrators. Since then, I’ve been an advocate for women and men to involve vibrators into the bedroom. Oh, and lube. Lots of lube.

So, what does ‘playtime’ mean to me?

In the bedroom, playtime means exactly that. Playtime in the bedroom. This could involve anything and everything – I’m more open-minded than I’ve ever been. However, I’m much more open to the word ‘play’ than I am the phrase ‘playtime’.

Here are a few posts I’ve written that explore ‘playtime’ for me:

So, do I ‘play’ in my daily life? Very much so; both intellectually, emotionally and physically. To me, play is much deeper than just this simple prompt. I enjoy play with myself, people, and life.

To conclude, what says ‘playtime’ to me? This phrase also has deeper meanings than the superficial WordPress prompt. On the one hand, it has negative sexual connotations for me. But, on the other hand, playtime is much more than just those sexual connotations.

Do you agree? Let me know what you think in the comments!
